Two Hayfork residents were arrested Thursday morning in American Canyon on suspicion of drug possession after they were contacted while they were sitting in a vehicle that allegedly had expired registration tags, authorities said.

An American Canyon police officer contacted Michael Jason Colebank, 37, and 42-year-old Amy Elizabeth Kirkman as they were parked on Rio Del Mar in American Canyon, police said. A search of the vehicle allegedly revealed suspected methamphetamine and a billy club.

Colebank was arrested on suspicion of possessing a billy club and drug paraphernalia, violating probation and several outstanding warrants, according to the booking report at the Napa County jail, where the pair was taken. Kirkman was arrested on suspicion of possessing methamphetamine and violating probation.
