Napa County law enforcement agencies have a joint fundraiser for the Special Olympics of Northern California between 5 and 9 p.m. Thursday at Applebee’s Restaurant in Napa. The “Tip-a-Cop” is a fundraiser for the annual law enforcement torch run and for next month’s Special Olympics of Northern California at UC Davis.

Uniformed officers in Napa will team with regular waitstaff to serve tables at 195 Soscal Ave. Customers leave their tips to servers and may leave a donation to the Special Olympics.

The Special Olympics provides year-round sports training and athletic competition for individuals with special needs, including 1,400 people in California. The programs are offered free to eligible athletes, thanks to financial contributions and the work of volunteers.
