Napa Valley College is sponsoring a trio of donation campaigns this holiday season to deliver food, coats and children’s toys to low-income families, both those in Napa County and the families of students.
Donations to the holiday drives will be accepted through Dec. 13.
• The college’s 23rd annual Holiday Food Drive is collecting non-perishable foods and diapers at various drop boxes at the NVC main campus, at 2277 Napa-Vallejo Highway. Other donation boxes are at the school’s Upper Valley Campus in St. Helena, at Pope Street and College Avenue.
• NVC’s Child Development Center Angel Tree is in the lobby of the college’s McCarthy Library. Visitors are asked to select from the tree a gift tag on which a child enrolled in the campus’s Child Development Center has made a gift request. Donors buy the listed gift, then drop it off, unwrapped, along with the tag at the ASNVC office in Room 1342 of the 1300 Student Services Building. Student volunteers are scheduled to distribute the gifts during final examinations week.
• The college’s Rotaract Club, a collegiate program of Rotary International, is organizing a Gently Used Warm Coat Drive that is accepting new and lightly used winter jackets of all sizes. Collection barrels are in the McCarthy Library, Student Services Building and the 800 Building.
Donations are distributed directly to families, individuals and NVC students in need, as well as through local nonprofit groups such as the Napa Valley Food Bank.
