Five people were transported by ambulance to area hospitals following a three-vehicle collision on northbound Highway 29, south of Highway 221, authorities said.
The crash, possibly a chain-reaction fender bender, occurred at
2:41 p.m. and closed one lane of Highway 29 for about 30 minutes, backing up traffic into American Canyon, the Napa Fire Department said. One adult sustained moderate injuries while four others were transported with minor injuries.
Three were taken to the Queen of the Valley Medical Center and one was taken to the Kaiser facility in Vallejo, authorities said.
The cause of the crash and other specifics were not known by the fire department Sunday afternoon, and a spokesperson from the California Highway Patrol was unavailable.
