Napa police are investigating the death of a woman found dead Saturday morning in a pool in the 900 block of Chelebrooke Court in east Napa,

Catherine Perata, 38, was found in the pool around 8:54 a.m., police said. She was confirmed dead and police detectives were called to investigate the circumstances of her death.

As of late Saturday morning, yellow crime tape blocked Chelebrooke Court as police officers and a chaplain remained at the house on a quiet residential area off Terrace Drive.

A detective said it was an “unattended death.”

A neighbor said Perata and her husband have two children, 8 and 10 years old. Her husband discovered the body.

Police said the death is under investigation and no further details were available as of 3 p.m. An autopsy is scheduled for Monday.
