A 26-year-old Angwin man was arrested Sunday evening at his home in Angwin after he allegedly beat his girlfriend with a bag of frozen corn while she was holding her baby, the Napa County Sheriff's Office said.
Deputies were called to the 300 block of White Cottage Lane around 5 p.m. Sunday on report of people yelling, the Sheriff's Office said. On arrival, a woman allegedly told deputies her boyfriend had beaten her in the head and shoulders with a bag of frozen corn while she was holding her 1-year-old child. When the woman tried to leave, the suspect allegedly slammed the door in the arm, causing softball-sized swelling, deputies said.
Ryan James Ellis was arrested on suspicion of domestic violence and child endangerment and was booked into the Napa jail, according to the Sheriff's Office.
