A 20-year-old Napa man was arrested Friday night on suspicion of possessing drugs that were allegedly discovered during a traffic stop, according to the Napa County Sheriff’s Office.

Carlos Viveros was pulled over around 11 p.m. in the area of Imola Avenue on suspicion of having expired tags on his vehicle, the sheriff’s office said. The deputy allegedly smelled a strong odor of marijuana and proceeded to search the vehicle.

The search revealed a small amount of suspected methamphetamine, authorities said. Viveros was arrested on suspicion of drug possession and booked into the Napa jail.
