A national manufacturer of playground equipment has honored Jim Roberts, a member of the Kiwanis Club of Napa, for building nearly 60 playgrounds with club members in Napa County.

Roberts, a past president and past lieutenant governor of the Kiwanis Club of Napa, received Landscape Structures’ Steve and Barb King Legacy of Play Award during the company’s annual meeting in Minnesota.

The Kiwanis Club of Napa installed its first playground in 2000. Since then, Roberts and his fellow Kiwanians have installed least four playgrounds each year, the company said in a news release.

“Many organizations and individuals share the same mission as Landscape Structures, which is to enhance children’s lives,” said Steve King, co-founder and chairman of Landscape Structures. “Jim is passionate about helping children. And it shows in the many projects he’s completed with the Kiwanis Club.”
