Overnight frost may settle on the Napa area this weekend as temperatures are expected to slip below freezing, and the National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather outlook for the North Bay because of the expected nighttime conditions.

After a 30 percent chance of rain before 10 a.m. Saturday, local skies are expected to clear, and the high temperature should reach 55 degrees at Napa County Airport. However, temperatures are forecast to fall as low as 29 during the night, with patchy fog possible between 4 and 10 a.m. Sunday.

Sunny skies on Sunday are again expected to give way to below-freezing overnight conditions, with a low of 28 and more frost possible after 4 a.m. Monday.

Here is the five-day temperature outlook for Napa:

Sunday: 54 / 28 — frost possible between 4 and 10 a.m.

New Year’s Eve: 54 / 32 — frost possible between 4 and 10 a.m.; 20 percent chance of rain after 10 a.m.

New Year’s Day: 53 / 31

Wednesday: 53 / 36 — chance of rain

Thursday: 53 / 35 — slight chance of rain
