One lane of Silverado Trail near St. Helena reopened Tuesday afternoon following an early morning crash that toppled a power pole.
A motorist hit a utility pole before dawn, closing both lanes of Silverado between Pope Street and Zinfandel Lane near St. Helena, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Some 1,600 Pacific Gas & Electric customers initially lost power, but all but 20 had been restored as of 10 a.m., the utility reported.
Isaac Anjejo, 23, of Loma Linda, was northbound on the Silverado Trail at about 5:20 a.m. in a 1999 Toyota Camry when, for unknown reasons, he veered to the left and crashed into a power pole, the CHP said. The pole was sheered and power lines fell, the CHP said.
Anjejo complained of pain but was not transported to the hospital.
