A 1938 Mack truck laden with Halloween spooks and pumpkins is turning heads in a west Napa neighborhood.
The decked-out vehicle sits in Brandon and Nichole Thomas’ front yard at the corner of Browns Valley Road and Karen Drive.
“People love this. They tell me it puts them in the spirit,” Brandon Thomas said Friday.
For the second year in a row, the Thomases have installed a Halloween truck with decorated pumpkins and skeletons in their yard. This year their art vehicle also has an autumn theme, he said.
The truck, which is lit at night, will be on display through Thanksgiving, then it will be torn down and converted to a Christmas-themed truck, Brandon Thomas said.
This is a non-operational truck, so Brandon, who works in construction, brings home an excavator from work to move it into position for the holidays, he said.
The family spent about $300 for additional adornments this year, while also recycling features from last year’s truck, he said. His wife, Nichole, is a “crafty person” who provides decorating ideas, he said.
More people than ever are stopping this year and taking photos, Brandon Thomas said. “Come on by and check it out.”
