The Napa County Sheriff's Office on Monday released the name of the man whose remains were found in a vineyard just outside the city of Calistoga last week.

The body was that of Zahid Nahiem, also known as Jeremy Reid, the sheriff's office said. He was a 32-year-old resident of Calistoga.

Nahiem was identified last week using fingerprint records, Capt. Tracey Stuart said Friday. His family was notified.

The cause of death has not been determined, though an autopsy was conducted Friday, authorities said. The remains, recovered from Kenefick Ranch, a sprawling vineyard on the east side of Calistoga, will undergo further examination in hopes of determining the cause of death.

Authorities have not said how long the man had been dead, but did say it had been a long time based on the body’s level of decomposition.

The Napa County Sheriff's Office is still investigating the case. Anyone with information should contact Detective Todd Hancock at 253-4591.
