Pockets of vapor hung low over the western hills near Yountville Thursday morning as a weather front deposited light showers accompanied by puffy clouds and patches of blue sky.

This dynamic sky show played out over a vineyard of untamed canes and a riotous pathway of yellow mustard.

The National Weather Service predicted showers trailing into Friday morning, then a weekend of frosty nights and sunny days.
