A 25-year-old Napa man was arrested just before midnight Saturday on suspicion of drug possession and other charges, police said.

Officers stopped Rene Serrano Arzate on suspicion of vehicle code violations as he drove in the 1700 block of First Street, according to police. The man allegedly showed signs of intoxication and being under the influence of a controlled substance, police said.

Arzate was allegedly found to be in possession of suspected methamphetamine and was arrested, police said. A records check revealed he was also driving on a suspended license, according to authorities. He was booked into the county jail.
