Darren Drake, the city’s fire marshal, will not face charges in connection with an alleged domestic violence incident last month, according to the Napa County district attorney’s office.

“We are not charging Darren Drake. There is insufficient evidence,” Chief Deputy District Attorney Paul Gero said this week in an email.

Drake, 55, of Napa, was arrested Nov. 5 in connection with an alleged domestic violence incident that occurred on Nov. 4, police said. He was released the same day.

Drake then took 3 1/2 days of personal leave and returned to duty the following week, Napa Fire Chief Mike Randolph said.
