Napa Valley College is accepting nominations for the 2013 McPherson Distinguished Teaching Awards through April 15.

Nominations for current full-time and part-time teaching faculty at Napa Valley College can come from residents, students, fellow faculty and other college staff. Awards will be given to instructors who “display excellent teaching and service to students.”

Winners will be announced in early May. The award to the full-time faculty member will be $1,000, and the award for the part-time faculty member will be $500.

Nomination forms can be picked up and submitted at the college’s Office of Instruction, room 1531.

Its a good thing there is no award competition for trustee or administrator. Displaying excellent service is not in their lexicon.
