Napa Police responded at 10 a.m. Sunday to a report of domestic violence at an apartment complex on the 3000 block of Soscol Avenue.
Police arrested both parties -- Antonio Frenchi James Sanchez, 31, and Nicol Elaine Sanchez, 31, for investigation of domestic violence.
Nicol Sanchez was treated at the Queen of the Valley Medical Center emergency room for visible injuries, police said.
Antonio Sanchez said they had argued about how to discipline their two children, police said. He told police that Nicol Sanchez had tried to stab him with scissors before she fled the home, according to police.
Both were arrested and booked into the Napa County jail. Child Protective Services took possession of both of their children, police said.
Police said they took possession of several assault rifles and a pistol that were in the apartment.
