A 32-year-old woman faces charges of incest and other allegations in Napa County Superior Court after she was arrested on suspicion of having sex with her 16-year-old biological son from Napa, according to court documents.
Mistie Atkinson, of Nice, Lake County, was arrested on a warrant in early March in Ukiah, where police allegedly found her in a hotel room with the boy, according to court documents.
She was charged on March 2 in Napa with incest, oral copulation of someone under the age of 18, contact with a minor for a sexual offense, and “sending harmful matter” to her biological son, according to the complaint.
Atkinson pleaded not guilty to all the charges on March 9. Her next hearing is May 10.
Napa police said in a court filing that videos captured from the boy’s phone show Atkinson allegedly performing oral sex and engaging in sexual intercourse with the teenager. The videos were dated Feb. 3 and Feb. 4, police said.
“Atkinson and the victim are aware they are biological mother and son,” police state in the complaint.
Atkinson is also suspected of sending nude pictures of herself to the boy electronically, authorities said. The images were all allegedly sent after Dec. 22, police said in court records. Atkinson allegedly exchanged sexually explicit messages with the teenager and they talked about running away together, court documents stated.
Atkinson, after her arrest in Ukiah, was transported from the Mendocino County jail to the Napa County jail, where she is being held on a $200,000 bail.
The father of the boy, who has full custody, has obtained a restraining order against Atkinson, court records show.

Charged March 2nd.
Court record search reveals headline news almost two months later.
The NVR has now added "incest" to "DUI" in their court records googling, and Jimmy Olson has been told not to google like a cub reporter.

It's amazing how many outlets have info that weren't included in the NVR, isn't it ? Well, it took them about a month to discover the first court record, didn't it ?
I gotta admit- this was a pretty good attempt at sensationalism. The NVR got lots of notoriety from lots of other tabloids, but your mileage may vary.
“Atkinson and the victim are aware they are biological mother and son,” police state in the complaint.
This article should be changed or updated. KTVU news reported on the story this morning, and they said "the son was not aware she was his mother". KTVU said also, "she was an absentee mother who sought him out using social media."

OhmyGod....Her photo is attractive. I would think she could get any 16 year old she wanted. But this is an obvious case of some sick depraved mental illness.
Eeeewwww
The boy lives in Napa.
Re parallelparking's comment: I'm not sure either as to why the venue is in Napa. The article didn't explain. Perhaps the Register can clarify.
Not sure why venue is in Napa -- did I miss something in the article. (Double-yuck.)
