A 19-year-old Napa resident was arrested at about 5:45 p.m. Tuesday in the 10 block of Blackberry Drive on suspicion of associating with a known gang member, a violation of terms of his probation, according to the Napa Police Department.

When police knocked on the door of at a residence in the 10 block of Blackberry Drive, Daniel Leon and other individuals allegedly ran from the house, jumping over a back fence, police said. Officers chased the individuals and caught Leon near Summerbrooke Circle, police said.

Police officers came for a post-release community supervision search at Blackberry Drive where a documented gang member lives, police said. Leon, who was on juvenile probation, was not to associate with known gang members, police said.

He was booked into the Napa County jail on suspicion of obstructing a police officer and violation of juvenile probation.
