A bicyclist was arrested Monday at about 1:25 a.m. on Shetler Avenue near Coronado Avenue for alleged drug-related offenses after sheriff’s deputies noticed what appeared to be injection marks on his arms, according to the Napa County Sheriff’s Office.

Kody Byrd, 20, of Napa, who had four Shasta County warrants for his arrest, consented to a search of his backpack, Capt. Tracey Stuart said. In it, deputies found two hypodermic needles and two Oxycodone pills, she said.

Byrd was booked into the Napa County jail on the out-of-county warrants and on suspicion of drug possession and hypodermic needle possession, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

I wonder what cause the sheriff had to stop the man prior to the knowledge of the warrants and track marks.
