Students who walk to Browns Valley Elementary School will have safer passage when school begins next month.

City crews are installing new sidewalks on the west side of Rowena Lane between Partrick Road and Browns Valley Road as part of the Safe Routes to Schools initiative.

The work, which includes the installation of five accessibility ramps, three driveway entrances and curbs and gutters, is scheduled to wrap up over the next two weeks, according to the city.

Additionally, Browns Valley Road between Partrick Road and Buhman Avenue will be repaved in early August. The work is scheduled to be complete before the new school year begins.

Thank you City of Napa. I've always thought this was needed.
