The Napa County Transportation and Planning Agency has reopened two public restrooms at its Soscol Gateway Transit Center, and will pay an extra $25,000 annually to clean them twice daily and install locking systems on their doors.

The restrooms were closed to the public shortly after the transit center opened in December because of vandalism and damaged property. NCTPA’s board of directors voiced support for re-opening them during its meeting in February and incurring the costs.

NCTPA Executive Director Kate Miller said the agency will install a locking system on the restrooms that allows staff at the information desk to open them upon request.
