Napa police arrested Salvado Galvan, 18, of Napa for allegedly taking a vehicle without the owner’s consent Thursday after a local resident claimed Galvan had taken his sister’s car, according to police.
The resident arrived home in the 4000 block of Escuela Drive in north Napa at about 2 a.m. Thursday to find his sister’s car parked a block away from their home. He spotted the suspect get out of the black 2001 Honda CRX, police said.
The resident pushed his sister’s car home and started looking for the suspect, police said. He found Galvan at a gas station on Salvador Avenue and called police.
Police located Galvan on nearby Byway East. Galvan allegedly tried to flee on foot but officers took him into custody a short distance away, police said.
Galvan was booked into the Napa County jail on suspicion of taking a vehicle without the owner’s consent, possession of stolen property and resisting a police officer, police said.
