Jameson Canyon Road/Highway 12 will be fully closed to traffic on Friday night from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m.
The six-mile stretch of highway is being shut so traffic can be shifted the next morning to a new one-mile stretch of pavement east of the Solano/Napa line, Caltrans said.
During the closure, safety barriers will be relocated and pavement restriped.
Caltrans is shifting traffic to a completed segment of the planned four-lane roadway so that the existing lanes can be rebuilt.
The safety project is scheduled to be completed in June of 2014.
Motorists are asked to detour using Interstate 80 and Highway 37 in Vallejo.
Additional project information is posted on the Caltrans’ Highway 12-Jameson Canyon webpage at dot.ca.gov/dist4.
