Vintners, restaurants, and celebrity chefs are coming together to host the fourth annual Crush Challenge on Oct. 14. Proceeds will benefit the deLeuze Family Professorship for a Non-Toxic Cure for Lymphoma, Davis Phinney Foundation for Parkinson’s, and Boys & Girls Clubs of Napa Valley.
The à la carte festivities include either the cycling ride through Napa Valley or a winemaker-hosted barrel tasting and food pairing by Hell’s Kitchen winner Chef Rock Harper at ZD Wines, and an all-inclusive Food & Wine Marketplace with local vintner and restaurant partners.
A sold-out multi-chef, multi-course dinner is headlined by celebrity chefs Chris Cosentino of Acacia House (Napa Valley) and Cockscomb (San Francisco); “Top Chef” alum Shirley Chung of Steamers Co. (Los Angeles); also “Top Chef” alum Neal Fraser of Redbird (Los Angeles); Chris DiMinno of Jackrabbit (Portland); and Chocolatier Chris Kollar of Kollar Chocolates (Napa Valley).
Partners of the Crush Challenge include Breakthru Beverage AZ & NV, C.H. Robinson, Demptos Napa Cooperage, Heritage Wine Cellars, MedalistSports, Porsche Walnut Creek, Southern Glazer’s Wine and Spirits, T Edward Wines, The Henry Wine Group, UC Davis Comprehensive Cancer Center, ZD Wines, and more.
The schedule for Saturday, Oct. 14:
— 9 a.m: Private cycling ride through the Napa Valley.
— 10 a.m.: Winemaker-hosted barrel tasting with food pairing at ZD Wines.
— Noon to 3 p.m.: All-inclusive Food & Wine Marketplace at the Veterans Home in Yountville. Tickets include all food and wine tastes from partners like Silver Oak/Twomey, Celadon, Vineyard 29, Il Posto Trattoria, St. Supéry Estate, Angèle, and more. Live music will be provided by the The Bee Rays with Amy Hogan.
— 6 p.m.: Sold-out red carpet reception and auction, including a multi-chef, multi-course wine dinner at Acacia House in St. Helena.
