A 53-year-old Napa woman died Friday at Queen of the Valley Medical Center following a crash in the 2200 block of Third Street, east of California Boulevard, the Napa Police Department said Monday.

When officers arrived at the scene at 9:38 a.m., they found the driver, Debora Tuttle, sitting unresponsive in the driver’s seat of the vehicle, police said. Because of the damage sustained to her vehicle, the Napa Fire Department had to extricate Tuttle from the wreckage.

She was taken to the hospital, where she subsequently died, police said.

The Napa Police Traffic Reconstruction Team investigated the crash, officials said. The team determined Tuttle was heading west on Third Street when, for an unknown reason, she veered to the right and hit a parked car. The parked vehicle was pushed into a second parked vehicle, which was pushed into a third parked vehicle.

Police said alcohol does not appear to be a factor, and that it is possible Tuttle had a medical event before the crash.

The reconstruction team is waiting on autopsy results to make that determination, police said.

Third Street was closed for about one hour during the investigation Friday. Witnesses are asked to contact Officer Gregg Lee at 257-9223.

The age of the victim has been added to the original post.

How sad. It certainly sounds like something happened to her prior to the accident. Thank goodness that no one else was injured.
