After a sun-filled Sunday, sub-freezing overnight conditions are expected to bring frost back to the Napa area.

A hazardous weather outlook issued by the National Weather Service remains in effect for Napa County and other North Bay valley areas. The outlook is due to clear, cold evening conditions with minimal wind, which are expected to produce areas of frost after 10 p.m.

Following an afternoon high of 50 degrees at Napa County Airport, temperatures are projected to sink to 28 early Monday morning. Overnight lows are expected to stay below freezing through New Year’s night.

Here is the five-day temperature outlook for Napa:

New Year’s Eve: 49 / 27 — areas of frost before 10 a.m.; 20 percent chance of evening showers before 10 p.m.

New Year’s Day: 50 / 28

Wednesday: 51 / 34 — slight chance of nighttime showers

Thursday: 52 / 35 — slight chance of showers

Friday: 55 / 35 — slight chance of showers
