Domaine Chandon will host a cocktail party from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday to raise funds for Sean Lyle, the 24-year-old restaurant server severely injured when hit by car in Las Vegas.

Sparkling wine and hors d’oeuvres will be served while guests bid on a bevy of silent auction items. Guests will be asked to make a $10 donation as the ticket price.

A server at Étoile Restaurant, Lyle has remained in a coma since being hit by a car on Feb. 23 while in Las Vegas celebrating his birthday. His medical expenses have already exceeded $500,000 and are expected to grow as he continues to be under medical supervision for the foreseeable future.

Silent auction items include prized Napa Valley wines, spa packages, hotel stays and gift certificates for local restaurants.

Reservations are requested. Call 888-242-6366.

Domaine Chandon is at 1 California Drive, Yountville,

This benefit may have it's heart in the right place, but I thought that Domaine offered it's employees a health insurance plan. Am I wrong with this thinking, or did this young man refuse to purchase the plan? Just wondering.

Unfortunately, Domaine Chandon rescinded health insurance for front of the house employees a few years ago. Used to be a great place to work with excellent health benefits. Not any more.....
