A 37-year-old man was booked into the Napa County jail at about 12:30 a.m. Sunday on suspicion of being under the influence, drug possession and drug paraphernalia possession, according to jail records.

Kenneth Ray Kenton, of Napa, was stopped at about 11:41 p.m. Saturday as he was leaving a store in the 2900 block of First Street, police said. Kenton was suspected of being under the influence of a controlled substance, police said. He told the officers he had a methamphetamine pipe in his pocket, police said. The officer found his pipe, along with a small baggie of suspected methamphetamine, police said.
