A 27-year-old man with no fixed address was jailed Wednesday on suspicion of drug possession after police stopped him at about 11:40 p.m. near Main and First streets, according to Napa police.

Donald Thompson, who had an outstanding warrant for his arrest, allegedly had a small amount of marijuana and hypodermic needles in his backpack, police said.

Thompson was booked into the Napa County jail on the warrant and on suspicion of being in possession of a controlled substance and of hypodermic needles, police said.
