Local families that make school-related payments through “MyPaymentsPlus” could win $1,000, as well as $500 for their charity of choice.

MyPaymentsPlus is used by some Napa Valley Unified School District families to pay for school meals.

All payments made to students’ accounts — including those paid online, through the auto-pay function or via the MyPaymentsPlus mobile app — through Dec. 31 are eligible. The winning family will be announced Jan. 2.

Visit Facebook.com/MyPaymentsPlus for more information.

I had no idea this is how it works now. Keeps the bullies from stealing your lunch money like back in the day!

Well... there's a fee. Of course. I signed up online to give me alerts when the account is low to $15 or less. But to pay online, it's like $3 extra fee per transaction, which is a whole lunch. That is convenient for the credit card company, but not for me. I'll write a check.
