Two men were arrested at about 7:30 p.m. Wednesday after police responded to a gang fight near Pueblo Avenue and Brown Street, authorities said.

The two men who were arrested, Rene Yanez, 20, of Concord, and Ignacio Castro, 18, of Napa, were on probation with terms that prohibited them from associating with other known gang members, Napa police said.

Yanez allegedly carried a concealed fixed-blade knife, police said. He was booked into the Napa County jail on suspicion of being in possession of an illegal weapon, being involved in a gang crime and violating probation, police said.

Castro was booked into the Napa County jail on suspicion of probation violation, police said.

They probably have priors as gang members or admitted to being in a gang. It doesn't matter how many are present at the time of the altercation, just two rival gang members having a fight...thus gang fight.

I don't get it? Gang fight? I know I am getting old but I really just don't get what the fight is?
We never had this junk going on until about 10 years ago?

Napa was such a great little peaceful town, what happened and why? What is the problem? Where are these folks from that want to make this a war zone. Who will get caught in the cross fire like what we see on the news with a little three year old shot and killed because he was in the same area as a shoot out with thugs killing each other.

I thought folks came to Napa to enjoy it's lifestyle, to gain the peace of this lovely Valley....what's with the fighting?

Do we ignore it and laugh it off or do we get a handle this stupid behavior before it gets to the point of Oakland CA.

Why don't these guys grow up and mind their own business and get busy with something that is actually progressive?

Oh yes, that's right they haven't figured out how to even pull their pants up or wear a hat yet....

This stuff has been around for closer to 30-40 years easy. It's now it's reported every time 2 'gang members' look at each other. And before the latino gangs came with the immigrants, it was white boy greasers fighting each other with switchblades and bats. And the term 'gang members' these days, especially in a place like Napa, is a catch all. Many of them have to claim their neighborhood just for protection, whether or not they 'bang' at all. Many times, it's in the family, it's all a big mess. And for the most part they only fight with other gangsters, so non gangsters are fairly safe. The gangsters we have here are not on par with Oakland, or LA, or SF, fortunately. Anyhow, it's the same as it ever was...
