Rates for some south county Napa County Recycling and Waste Services customers are going up 1.7 percent Oct. 1.

The uptick affects customers in the unincorporated area from south of Yountville to the Napa County line, said Greg Pirie, the county’s solid waste program manager.

Residential customers with a 35-gallon toter would see their rates increase from $17.16 to $17.45. For a 65-gallon toter the rates will go from $25.87 to $26.31. For a 96-gallon toter the rates go from $38.81 to $39.47.

The Napa County Board of Supervisors approved the increase Tuesday. The company said it needs the additional revenue to cover operating expenses.
