A man was booked into the Napa County jail at about 12:30 a.m. Thursday on suspicion of stealing a bolt cutter from The Home Depot after placing the $24 item under his jacket and leaving the store without paying for the item, according to the Napa Police Department.
The incident was reported Wednesday morning. At about 11:30 p.m. Wednesday, an officer found the suspect, Steven Tomas Hubbard, at Starbucks in the 200 block of Soscol Avenue near The Home Depot.
Hubbard had been arrested in June on suspicion of shoplifting at The Home Depot and ordered not to return to the store, police said.
He was booked Thursday into the Napa County jail on suspicion of burglary, receiving known stolen property and probation violations, police said.
