The Napa County Sheriff's Office is asking the public for information into the possible thefts of more than $30,000 in goods after a man's arrest Sunday morning.
Deputies detained Jeremy Joseph Villante, 37, at noon at his home in the 1100 block of Olive Hill Road east of Napa. He was booked into the Napa County jail on suspicion of receiving stolen property after a stash of hardware and electronics large enough to fill two pickup trucks was found inside the home, according to Sgt. Jon Thompson.
The visit to Villante's residence followed a theft report, Thompson said. A search turned up chain saws, leaf blowers, weed trimmers and two bicycles, along with cameras and other electronics, according to Thompson, who said store security tags were still attached to some of the items.
"We believe a lot of this stolen property was from Home Depot and other stores in the area," said Thompson.
Anyone with information about the case is asked to contact sheriff's Detective Aaron Mosley at 707-253-4440.
