A Napa County Sheriff's deputy stopped to question two teenage boys who were walking in all-black clothing after midnight Saturday in the vicinity of Freeway Drive and First Street.
As the questioning developed, the officer recovered a knife and tied the 15-year-olds to thefts from two unlocked vehicles in the vicinity of Imola Avenue and South Freeway Drive, Sheriff's Lt. Jon Crawford said Monday.
The youths had a wallet, sun glasses and a driver's license from the vehicles, Crawford said.
They also had a key chain that Napa Police later determined had come from a stolen vehicle, he said.
The teens were taken to Juvenile Hall for investigation of felony conspiracy, misdemeanor petty theft from a vehicle, possession of stolen property and failure to obey a court order, Crawford said.
