Two hours after he reported his car stolen, the owner notified Napa police Tuesday night that he had spotted his vehicle cruising north on Soscol Avenue, police said.

The driver, Trevor James Handy, 28, of Napa, was stopped near Brown and G streets and arrested, police said. A female passenger was detained and released, police said.

Handy was booked at the Napa County jail on suspicion of probation violation and driving a stolen vehicle, authorities said.

The car had been reported stolen shortly before 9 p.m. from a parking lot in the 1100 block of Third Street, police said.
