Irene Rose Lemmons of Napa succumbed to cancer on Jan. 8, 2002. She was born on Dec. 13, 1921, in Allen, Okla., to Arthur Lee and Georgia Conaster.
In 1939 she married her childhood sweetheart, Carl Leroy Lemmons, who passed away in 1983. Throughout her life she volunteered countless hours to the U. S. Forest Service as a campground host and Past Noble Grand of the Rebekah Lodge. Other enjoyments included baking, reading, tending to her yard and camping with family and friends. Perhaps she was best known for her friendly demeanor at Roberta's Women's Apparel in downtown Napa. She was deeply loved and will be missed dearly.
She is survived by brother Clarence Conaster; children Carolyn LeMaster, Roy Lemmons and Delores Asbury, all of Napa; grandchildren Kevin, Barry and Sean LeMaster, Christopher and Todd Lemmons, Denise Schoonmaker and Leslie Asbury; great-grandchildren Jacklyn, Cody and Chance LeMaster and Kiana Schoonmaker. She was predeceased by siblings Wanda, Christie and Mary Lemmons.
Friends are invited to attend the funeral service Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Chapel of Richard Pierce Funeral Service, 1660 Silverado Trail, Napa. Visitation will be Friday from noon to 8 p.m. at the mortuary. Interment will be at Tulocay Cemetery, 411 Coombsville Road, Napa.
