Claudine F. Vanley went home to the Lord on Dec. 10, 2011. She Was born in Tribune, Kan., to Leslie J. Miler and Myrtle J. Smith on Feb. 14, 1934.
She leaves cherished memories with her loving sons, Jim (Colleen) Foster of Appleton, Wis., William Foster of Napa, Fred (Helen) Vanley, Jr., of Tucson, Ariz, Pete (Shari) Vanley of Fairfield, Calif.; daughter, Cheryl (Larry) Hill of Krum, Texas; loving sisters, Martha (Lonnie) McCarty of Ellinwood, Kan., Sharron Lane of Bay City, Texas, Bobbie (Chuck) Shannon of Salina, Kan.; brothers, Curtis (Carmen) Miller of Pagosa Springs, Colo., Denny Joe of Hoisington, Kan., Warren (Elaine) Miller of Derby, Kan., and Steven (Consetta) Miller, of Grain Valley, Mo.; many grandchildren and nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Charles Durand of Yountville.
Claudine was preceded in death by her loving husband, Fred (Curly) N. Vanley; a brother, Roger Miller; and a sister, Janice Manley.
She loved her church and volunteering weekly at the Meadows and California Veterans Home at Yountville, where her smile and infectious laughter lit up wherever she was. It is impossible to express how much she will be missed by her family and large circle of friends.
Memorial service will be held Friday, Dec. 16, 2011, at 2 p.m., at Grace Church, 3765 Solano Ave., Napa, CA. In lieu flowers, the family request donations to Hospice of Napa Valley. Arrangements are under the direction of Napa Valley Memorial Park Mortuary, Napa.
