Laura J. Sibert (née Leavens) succumbed to pneumonia on March 29, 2017, aged 55 years, with her daughter, Sabrina Bisconer, her niece, Serena Beenblossom, and her great-niece, Solstice Dehn, at her side. Laurie was born in Germany to American parents, Frank Leavens and Carol Kashiwagi (née Wilson) on March 11, 1962. Her family settled in Napa in 1965, and she attended Lincoln Elementary School until it closed, then finished at West Park Elementary before attending Redwood Junior High School, as it was then known, and she graduated from Napa High School in 1980. She studied Business Administration at Diablo Valley College. Laurie was a senior buyer at ABB for many years, then worked at Powis Parker, Inc. until chronic ill-health forced her to retire. Laurie loved people and animals, volunteering at the Napa animal shelter and as an altar server at St. Apollinaris Catholic Church; she was always happiest when she was helping others. She is survived by her daughter, Sabrina Bisconer, son-in-law, Benjamin Bisconer, and grandson, Damian Bisconer, all living in Lodi, CA. She is also survived by her niece, Serena Beenblossom, and great-niece, Solstice Dehn, from Napa, CA, and her nephew, Richard Harris, and great-nephew, Cole Harris, from Sonora, CA. Additionally, she is survived by her brother, David Leavens, sister-in-law, Kim Bard, and nephew, Nicholas Leavens, who reside in England. Laurie was predeceased by her father, Frank Leavens, her mother, Carol Kashiwagi, and her sister, Lynne Beenblossom. She was a devoted mother to her daughter, Sabrina, and grandmother to Damian.
