Bel Aire rocks

These “peace rocks” were hidden around Bel Aire Plaza on Thursday by students at Bel Aire Park Magnet School.

On Thursday, the International Day of Peace, students at Bel Aire Park Magnet School walked to Bel Aire Plaza on Trancas Street to place more than 400 "peace rocks" in nooks and crannies.

The rocks were colorfully painted, many with hearts and peace symbols.

As an International Baccalaureate School, Bel Aire Park teaches that everyone has the responsibility to make the world a better place, said Stacey Abeyta, a school coordinator.
