A short bicycle pursuit Saturday morning ended with the arrest of a 22-year-old transient man, according to Napa Police.

At 9:59 a.m., officers saw Jonathan David Singletary at the corner of Hartle Court and Gasser Drive and attempted to serve an arrest warrant him when he rode away on his bike, according to Sgt. Mike Walund. When police caught up with Singletary, he tried to punch one officer before he was taken to the ground and detained, Walund said.

Singletary, who has no listed permanent address, was booked into the Napa County jail on suspicion of resisting arrest and violating his probation, as well as a misdemeanor account of public intoxication.
