Three known gang members were arrested Tuesday afternoon as they were loitering around a parked VW Jetta at Freeway Drive and Imola Avenue, according to Napa Police.

Marcos Leon, 18, of Napa, allegedly was in possession of a baton, police said. Leon was booked into the Napa County jail on suspicion of being in possession of a billy club, obstructing a peace officer, and criminal street gang activity, according to the jail logs.

Two juveniles were also arrested for allegedly violating court orders, police said. One was also arrested for allegedly being in possession of metal knuckles with a street gang enhancement, police said.

The arrests were made by the department’s Special Enforcement Unit.

Agree with StillInNapa (I am too!) I have long thought that law enforcement should basically stalk the local gang members. They know who they are, so keep hounding them; cruise where they hang, watch for any probable cause and take them down. I honestly believe that the eradication of gangs is one of the top priorities in our community. Focus on this, please.

Thank you for making this arrest! If everyone in jail or prison that is there do to a marijuana offense were released and replaced with a gang member we would all be better off. Strict zero tolerance for gangs is the only remedy for the eradication of gangs in Napa.
