American Canyon police arrested a man and woman early Sunday morning after a U-Haul truck the pair allegedly stole from Oroville broke down.

In the early hours, officers spotted a U-Haul truck with a flat tire stopped in the Wal-Mart parking lot. Realizing the vehicle had no front license plate or front bumper, police checked the truck’s back plate and discovered that it had been reported stolen on April 15, police said.

Officers contacted Blu Lee Pappa, 21, of Elmira, and Leslie Benavidez Isidro, 37, of Oroville, who were inside the vehicle. When police searched the pair, they reportedly found a small amount of methamphetamine and pipes. A background check revealed that Isidro also had an outstanding arrest warrant from Daly City.

Police arrested Pappa and Isidro on suspicion of vehicle theft and drug possession. They were booked into county jail on $50,000 bail each.
