A 22-year-old Napa woman was arrested early Sunday morning on suspicion of spousal abuse after she allegedly retaliated against a man who had ripped her Bible in half, police said.

Around 2:30 a.m. Sunday, Ziam Delgadillo got into an altercation in the 1700 block of Pine Street when a man who had allegedly ripped her Bible in two, Napa police said. In response, the suspect allegedly shoved the man, causing him to fall and knock over a lamp.

Delgadillo then jumped on top of the man, striking him several times, police said. The alleged victim sustained numerous lacerations from the broken glass from the lamp, police said.

The man was treated at the scene by emergency medical personnel from the fire department and American Medical Response, police said. Delgadillo was booked into the Napa jail.
