Napa police arrested a 41-year-old American Canyon man on suspicion of felony drunken driving after he allegedly caused an injury collision Saturday evening, police said.

Officers were called around 5:30 p.m. to the area of Soscol Avenue and Silverado Trail regarding the collision that allegedly occurred when Sergio Ildefonso Estrada sideswiped another vehicle, police said.

Estrada was driving southbound in the northbound lanes of Soscol Avenue, north of Silverado Trail, police said. The alleged victim was driving north on Soscol and reportedly swerved to avoid the collision. Estrada’s vehicle sideswiped that of the victim, authorities said.

The victim complained of pain and was transported by ambulance to the Queen of the Valley Medical Center, police said.

Estrada reportedly showed signs of “extreme intoxication,” police said. He was allegedly driving on a suspended driver’s license.

Estrada was arrested on suspicion of felony DUI and driving on a suspended license, police said. He was booked into the Napa County jail.
