Extra DUI patrols over the Fourth of July holiday weekend netted seven suspected DUI arrests and two warrant arrests, according to the Napa Police Department’s traffic division.
The patrols, held by the countywide Avoid the 9 program that is funded by the state Office of Traffic Safety, took place Friday and Saturday nights, from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m.
During the operations, 71 vehicles were stopped in various Napa County cities, resulting in seven DUI arrests, an outstanding felony warrant arrest and an outstanding misdemeanor arrest.
According to Napa Police Sgt. Brian Campagna, three vehicles belonging to drivers who were cited for suspended licenses were impounded for 30 days.
