Employees of a Napa Safeway store apprehended a man Wednesday who fled when he was confronted about allegedly stealing from the store.
At 10 p.m., police officers were dispatched to the store on the 1600 block of Clay Street. Several employees said they stopped David Vrhovnik, 19, at the front of the store as he attempted to leave with several bottles of alcohol, police said.
Vrhovnik attempted to flee, but the employees tackled him and detained him, police said. He is on probation and was arrested on suspicion of burglary and violation of probation. He was booked at the Napa County Department of Corrections.
