At about 2:50 p.m. Friday, a 15-year-old teen was riding a bike when he and a car collided on Highway 29’s northbound off-ramp at Trancas Street, according to the Napa Fire Department. As a result of the collision, the teen’s left leg and foot got stuck into the wheel of the car. Firefighters used the Jaws of Life to pry the wheel well outward and extricate the teen, according to first responders.

He was transported with minor injuries to Queen of the Valley Medical Center, according to American Medical Response.

To the parents of the teen. I'm so glad your child only received minor injuries. Please be sure that you & your child both speak to the police after the trauma of the hospital visit is over. If they determine that it was the child's fault, the driver's insurance company will sue you for damages to the car. This happened to me last summer. No police or insurance person ever spoke to me. And they only spoke to my son at the scene when he was still in shock. It was only 50% his fault. Just want to give other parents a heads-up.

Why was there a 15 year old kid on bike on the Highway 29 northbound off-ramp at Trancas Street?

Hope the fool is going to pay for the damage to that car.

But it says "northbound off-ramp at Trancas..." and there is a northbound off-ramp at Trancas.
