A man and a woman were arrested Sunday after police officers were dispatched at 11:06 p.m. to an auto shop in the 1700 block of Soscol Avenue to a report of a vehicle burglary in progress, police said. The woman who reported the incident said her father was chasing a male suspect who jumped a fence near the shop.

Jason Hellman, 40, of Vallejo, and Sara Carrillo, 27, of Napa, were arrested on Marin Street near Lincoln Avenue as they drove away in a black GMC Yukon, police said. Carrillo was driving, police said.

Hellman, who was sweating profusely, was bleeding from small cuts on both hands, police said. The ignition of the vehicle had been punched into, police said.

Hellman, who was wanted on a warrant, was booked into the Napa County jail on suspicion of conspiracy, vehicle theft, probation violation and conspiracy to commit a crime, police said. Carrillo was booked for allegedly conspiring to commit a crime, police said.
